Nothing Til Blood Article - Hopecore Magazine

I

am excited about this new Strike First Records release more than I can say. In this drowning seascape, that is modern metalcore, I feel that the Spirit-filled Hardcore scene is going to carry us through this musical recession. Nothing Til Blood is giving us several reasons to believe. It is the truth and honesty behind their lyrics that hooked me to this band on first listen. The apparent passion for what they are doing is going to keep me coming back. My hat is off to these guys. It is hard in this day and age to create something fresh and relevant yet they have succeeded at just that. Check out our interview below and get ready for more from this inevitable mainstay.

What is the motive to play music with a message that is so straight forward?

Nothing Til Blood: Our motive is to open eyes and hearts to a real truth that we experienced.

Talk to us about the Spirit-filled Hardcore scene for a minute. What do you see as the reaction to bands like yours from non-believers?

NTB: It varies, but most of the time we get a positive reaction from the crowds that we play for. There are those people that do make a mockery of what we do and try to sow hate into our surroundings by saying what we speak of has no relevance to their lifestyle, but truth is truth.

Name drop a few bands, within the Spirit-filled scene, that you feel deserve some attention right now…

NTB: Redeemer, Creations, Dynasty, those boys are killing it!

“We didn’t approach this with the mentality of a mediocre message or anything less than seeing the Kingdom come to earth. We want to reach the masses and show people the real, loving, healing Jesus that we know.”I dig you guys, a lot. Who do you pull your style from? I know it is eclectic but are there certain bands or elements that you draw from? It is always interesting to hear what feeds different musicians souls.

NTB: Most of our lives we’ve listened to punk and hardcore music, so we pull from the bands that meant something to us and bands that stood true. In our earlier years, there weren’t very many spirit-filled bands in hardcore.

How was it working with Jamie King?

NTB: Incredible, he greeted us with opening the door and throwing us a “hang-ten” hand sign, we clicked instantly. He knew what we wanted and we knocked the record out in no time. For what we’re going for, he did it justice.

What do you guys hope to do with your music, big picture?

NTB: Make a mark in this scene. We didn’t approach this with the mentality of a mediocre message or anything less than seeing the Kingdom come to earth. We want to reach the masses and show people the real, loving, healing Jesus that we know.

Where, when and with who can we all catch you guys on tour?

NTB: October we’re doing an east coast tour with our friends in We The Gathered, and November we’re hitting the west coast with Altars for some awesome shows!

Anything else on your heart that you would like to get to the readers?

NTB: The punk and hardcore movement was created by kids that had nowhere else to go. It was created by the outcasts, the freaks, and the ones that were made fun of because of the way they looked and how they viewed things differently. It was a refuge in a place of acceptance to express your beliefs passionately. Over the years that has not been portrayed or demonstrated by newer bands of this age, so our goal is to bring back that hope, acceptance, and love in the hardcore family.

Thank you so much for talking to us, I expect big things from you guys.
